The Aylesford Driveway Project

Driveway design and front garden transformation in Aylesford, Kent

The Brief

The brief was to expand and redesign the front driveway to create a more practical, spacious area for parking and manoeuvring, while maintaining a clean, considered aesthetic in keeping with the property.

The Build

To maximise usability, we extended the footprint of the driveway, creating a more generous and functional layout for vehicle manoeuvring and parking.

The space was finished using Castacrete grey Pencil Edge Tegula block paving, framed with a contrasting charcoal border to introduce definition and a clean architectural edge.

To retain a sense of greenery without compromising on space, we introduced a bespoke slatted timber screen and gate, crafted using materials from S.W. Yorke Timber and Fencing Merchants. This creates a clear boundary between the driveway, the trees lining the edge of the property, and the neighbouring space, adding both privacy and structure to the overall design.

Two purpose-built planting beds were incorporated into the layout, allowing for controlled, low-maintenance planting that enhances the space without overwhelming it.

The Result

The result is a refined and highly functional driveway that balances practicality with considered design.

What was once an underutilised and restrictive frontage is now a spacious, well-structured environment tailored to the client’s everyday needs. Clean lines, durable materials and carefully integrated planting come together to create a driveway that feels both purposeful and visually cohesive from the moment you arrive.
